Enfamil: Choosing a Formula Type, Powder vs Ready-to-Feed, and Rewards Savings

Enfamil is a major US infant formula brand, made by Mead Johnson. The Enfamil site sells its infant formulas, formulas for specific feeding needs, toddler drinks under the Enfagrow name, and related products such as vitamin drops. An Enfamil order goes well when you buy the exact formula your baby already uses, in the format that fits your routine, and never run short.

This guide is practical shopping advice, not feeding advice. Choosing or changing a formula is a decision for you and your paediatrician.

How the Enfamil range is organised

Enfamil sells several lines of infant formula. There are routine formulas such as Enfamil NeuroPro and Enfamil Enspire, formulas for particular feeding situations such as Enfamil Gentlease and Enfamil A.R., a soy-based option under the ProSobee name, and specialised formulas such as Nutramigen that are typically used under medical guidance.

The names are close and the tubs look alike. Before you order, match the full product name, the stage and the format against the tub you already have. Buying the wrong Enfamil product by mistake is the most common and most avoidable problem.

Switching formulas: ask first

Do not switch between Enfamil formulas, or from another brand to Enfamil, without talking to your paediatrician. Babies can react to a change, and your paediatrician knows your baby's history.

If you are advised to switch, ask how to make the change and what to watch for. Buy a small size of the new Enfamil formula first rather than a bulk pack you may not use.

Powder, concentrate or ready-to-feed

Most Enfamil formulas come in more than one format, and the right choice depends on your routine and budget.

Powder is the cheapest per feed and lasts longest once opened, within the time stated on the tub. It needs measuring and mixing with water each time.

Liquid concentrate is mixed with an equal amount of water, following the label. It is quicker than powder but costs more per feed.

Ready-to-feed Enfamil comes in bottles or nursettes and needs no mixing. It is the most convenient for night feeds, travel and daycare, and the most expensive. Many families use powder at home and keep a few ready-to-feed bottles for outings.

Preparation: follow the label exactly

Every Enfamil tub and bottle carries preparation instructions. Follow them exactly, every time, using the scoop that comes with that product.

Never add extra water to make formula last longer, and never add less. Wrong ratios can harm a baby. Check the label for how long prepared formula can be kept and how long an opened container stays usable, and discard anything past those times.

If you are unsure about water, sterilising or storage, ask your paediatrician or health visitor rather than guessing.

Buying enough, without overbuying

Keep at least a week or two of your baby's Enfamil formula at home so a delivery delay never leaves you short. Past shortages taught many parents to keep a buffer.

Do not stockpile months of one formula. Babies move stages and sometimes need a different product, and every Enfamil container has a use-by date. Check the date on arrival and use the oldest first.

Enfamil has offered subscription or auto-ship options on its site at times. Check what is available, how easy it is to pause, and whether a discount applies.

Enfamil Rewards and free samples

Enfamil runs a rewards programme for parents, which has offered coupons, points on purchases and samples. Sign up before your first order: the savings often apply to formula bought in shops as well as online.

Read the Enfamil Rewards terms for which products and retailers qualify and when points or checks expire.

Where the Enfamil savings are

ENFAMILENFAMILVIP — 25% offSHOW COUPON CODE
ENFAMILENFA50 — buy one, get one 50% offSHOW COUPON CODE
ENFAMILENF2025 — $20 offSHOW COUPON CODE

The 25% code is the best general Enfamil code. Use it on a normal order of your usual formula, especially a larger one.

Buy one, get one 50% off is 25% off across two items of equal price, so it matches the percentage code only when you would buy two anyway. Use it for your regular formula, not to try a new one.

The $20 code wins on smaller orders. Break-even against 25% is $80: below that, the $20 saves more; above it, take the percentage. It may need a minimum spend.

Enfamil codes generally do not stack, and some exclude specialised formulas. Try each at checkout and keep the lowest total. Never let a code decide which formula you buy.

Common questions

Can I switch Enfamil formulas to use a code?

No. Talk to your paediatrician before any switch, and buy the formula your baby is on.

Is Enfamil ready-to-feed the same as powder?

It is the same formula in a different format. Ready-to-feed needs no mixing and costs more per feed.

How much Enfamil formula should I keep at home?

A week or two of buffer is sensible. Avoid stockpiling past the use-by dates.

Can I add extra water to Enfamil powder?

No. Follow the label's preparation instructions exactly, every time.
