The GMC online store sells genuine parts and accessories for GMC trucks and SUVs: Sierra pickups, the Canyon, Yukon, Acadia, Terrain and the electric Hummer and Sierra EV. You can buy anything from an oil filter to a tonneau cover or a set of wheels.
What decides whether a GMC order goes well is fitment. The same model name covers many years, cab styles, bed lengths, engines and trims, and a part that fits one Sierra may not fit the one on your drive.
Start every GMC order with the VIN
Enter your 17-character VIN rather than picking year, model and trim from menus. The VIN tells the GMC catalogue the exact engine, drivetrain, body style and factory options.
The VIN is printed at the base of the windscreen on the driver's side, on the driver's door jamb, and on your registration and insurance card.
Menu-based fitment is where most wrong GMC orders start. A Sierra 1500 crew cab with a short box takes different bed accessories from a double cab with a standard box, and an AT4 or Denali can differ from an SLE on bumpers, steps and lighting.
If a part shows "fits your vehicle" with notes attached, read the notes. They often say things like "requires trailering package" or "not for models with the MultiPro tailgate".
Genuine GM, ACDelco and what the labels mean
GM Genuine Parts are the same parts fitted at the factory. For sensors, electrical modules and body panels, that exact match is usually worth paying for.
ACDelco is General Motors' parts brand. Its Gold (formerly Professional) and Silver (formerly Advantage) lines cover maintenance items such as brake pads, filters, wipers and batteries, often for less than the Genuine GM part.
For wear items on an older GMC out of warranty, ACDelco Gold is a sensible middle ground. For anything on a newer GMC still under warranty, or anything electronic, stick with Genuine GM.
GMC accessories by vehicle
On a Sierra, the popular categories are bed covers, bed liners and mats, assist steps, trailer hitches and towing mirrors. Check the bed length and whether your truck has the multi-function tailgate before buying anything that touches the rear.
On a Yukon, Acadia or Terrain, all-weather floor liners, cargo trays, roof crossbars and splash guards are the core GMC accessories. Floor liners are cut per row and per seating layout, so a Yukon with second-row captain's chairs needs a different liner from one with a bench.
For the Hummer EV and Sierra EV, GMC also sells charging equipment. Before ordering a home charger, confirm your home's electrical supply can take it, and have an electrician check the circuit.
Genuine GMC accessories installed by a dealer may be covered under a GM accessory warranty. Ask the dealer what cover applies to your specific part before you choose self-install.
Dealer pickup, shipping and installation
Orders through the GMC parts store are generally fulfilled by a participating GMC dealer. Prices can differ slightly between dealers, so compare two or three near you before checking out.
Large items such as running boards, wheels and bumpers are often cheaper to collect at the dealer than to ship. Some dealers will also quote for fitting while you are there.
Ask for the fitting quote before you order. A simple GMC accessory like a set of floor liners takes no tools, but wiring for a trailer brake controller or lighting is a job for the dealer or a competent mechanic.
Maintenance parts worth buying from GMC
Filters, brake pads, batteries and wiper blades are where GMC's own codes appear most often. Buying the correct engine and cabin air filter by VIN avoids the near-miss sizes common at general parts shops.
For brakes, buy pads and rotors for the same axle together, and check whether your GMC uses a different front brake package with a towing or heavy-duty option.
Batteries usually carry a core charge refunded when you return the old one. Keep the receipt.
Returns on GMC parts
Return rules are set by the fulfilling dealer and can vary. Electrical parts are commonly non-returnable once opened or installed, and special-order items may carry a restocking fee.
Leave packaging intact until you have confirmed fit against the old part. Check the dealer's current return terms on the order page before paying.
Where the GMC savings are
GMC runs frequent percentage codes on parts and accessories. These three cover most orders:
Try the 25% GMC parts code first on any mixed basket. It is the deepest general discount in the list, though some dealers exclude certain parts or accessories.
The brake code only makes sense if the 25% code is refused on brake parts. Run both at checkout and keep whichever the GMC basket accepts.
The free-shipping code is for small orders you want delivered, such as filters or wiper blades. On a large accessory, collecting from the dealer usually beats paying freight at all.
GMC codes rarely stack. If only one is accepted, compare the two: on a small order, the shipping saving can be worth more than 25% of a low basket total.
Common questions
Does the GMC store sell parts for Chevrolet too?
Many GM parts are shared, but shop by your own VIN on the GMC store so the catalogue only shows parts confirmed for your GMC.
Will fitting a GMC accessory affect my warranty?
A Genuine GMC accessory is designed for the vehicle. Ask the dealer about accessory warranty cover and whether dealer installation changes it.
Why do GMC parts prices differ between dealers?
Each participating dealer sets its own price and shipping. Compare a few before ordering.
Can I return a GMC part that did not fit?
Usually, if unused and in its packaging, but electrical and special-order parts are often excluded. Check the dealer's terms.
