F1 TV: Access vs Pro, Device Support and When to Subscribe

F1 TV is Formula 1's own streaming service, sold at f1tv.formula1.com. It carries live sessions, onboard cameras, timing data, replays and an archive of past seasons, depending on the plan and where you live.

Two decisions make or break an F1 TV subscription: which tier is actually available in your country, and whether to pay monthly or annually. Get those right before any discount code.

F1 TV Access vs F1 TV Pro

F1 TV Access is the cheaper tier. It has generally included live timing, race replays, highlights and the archive, but not live race streams.

F1 TV Pro adds live coverage of every session in countries where Formula 1 sells it directly, with onboard cameras from each driver, the pit lane channel and a data channel. Pro has also carried live F2, F3 and F1 Academy sessions.

F1 TV has also offered a Premium tier in some countries, adding features such as multi-view and 4K streams on top of Pro. Tier names and features shift between seasons, so compare the current F1 TV plan table line by line before choosing.

If you want to watch races live on F1 TV, Pro is the tier that matters. If you already watch live on a broadcaster and want replays, onboards after the event and timing, F1 TV Access may be enough.

Why your country decides

F1 TV Pro is only sold where Formula 1 has kept or shared the live streaming rights. In markets with an exclusive broadcaster, F1 TV Pro may not be offered at all, and the F1 TV Access tier is what you get.

The F1 TV site shows the plans for the country it detects. Check that page before assuming Pro exists for you, and check again at the start of each season, because broadcast deals change.

A subscription is tied to the country of your account and payment method. Travelling abroad can affect what F1 TV lets you stream, and using tools to disguise your location breaks the terms of service.

Devices and streaming quality

F1 TV runs in web browsers and has apps for iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku and many smart TVs and consoles. Check the current F1 TV device list for your exact TV model before paying.

The multi-view and onboard features work best on a large screen with a steady connection. If your broadband struggles on busy evenings, lower the quality setting rather than accepting constant buffering during a race.

F1 TV limits simultaneous streams per account. Check the current limit if the household will watch on several screens at once.

Annual or monthly

F1 TV sells monthly and annual plans. The annual plan costs noticeably less per month across a full season, but the Formula 1 calendar runs roughly from March to December, with a winter break.

If you watch every race weekend, annual is the better value. If you only follow the season's second half, or just a few races, monthly billing and cancelling in the off-season can cost less in total.

Subscriptions renew automatically. Set a reminder a week before renewal, and turn off auto-renew in your F1 TV account if you do not want another year.

Timing the purchase

F1 TV discounts tend to appear around the start of the season, big race weekends and seasonal sales, and mid-season offers often target lapsed subscribers. Subscribing just before the season opener gets the full year's use from an annual plan.

Buying late in the season is the weakest time for an annual plan. Most of the value arrives in the first few months of the next year.

Where the F1 TV savings are

F1 TVF1PAYDAY — 30% offSHOW COUPON CODE
F1 TVF1PACE — 20% offSHOW COUPON CODE
F1 TVF1WELCOME — 15% offSHOW COUPON CODE

These codes are tied to Formula 1's own promotions, and some Formula 1 codes are meant for the official F1 Store rather than the F1 TV subscription. Enter each on the F1 TV checkout and see which one it accepts before paying.

The 30% code is the one to try first on an F1 TV annual plan, since a percentage saving on the yearly price is the largest cash amount.

The 20% code is the fallback, and the 15% welcome code is aimed at new subscribers, so expect it to be declined on an account that has subscribed before.

Codes normally apply to the first billing period only. Check what the renewal price will be, and whether the code changes the F1 TV plan you can pick.

Common questions

Can I watch races live on F1 TV Access?

No. Live race streams are part of F1 TV Pro, where it is sold.

Why can't I buy F1 TV Pro?

Your country's broadcast deal may exclude it. The F1 TV site only shows plans available where you are.

Is the F1 TV annual plan worth it?

Yes if you watch most race weekends. Monthly suits part-season fans.

Can I cancel F1 TV mid-season?

You can stop auto-renewal at any time; access continues until the paid period ends.
